ARESA SHIPYARD successfully completes the H2_VAIXELL project
The shipyard finalizes the development of Spain’s first hydrogen-powered passenger catamaran, advancing the decarbonization of maritime transport
With the completion of the PERTE project “H2_VAIXELL”, ARESA SHIPYARD successfully concludes the development of a hydrogen-powered passenger catamaran, a significant step towards the decarbonization of maritime transport and the consolidation of clean technologies applied to the naval sector.
This project marks a milestone in the integration of sustainable propulsion systems, combining innovation, advanced engineering, and environmental commitment.
The execution of this project has been made possible thanks to the financial support of the European Union, within the framework of the NextGenerationEU program, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which aims to promote ecological transition, digitalization, and industrial competitiveness.
This European initiative has driven the research and development of a pioneering vessel, helping to strengthen the technological capacity of the Spanish industrial fabric in the maritime field.
ARESASHIPYARD wishes to express its gratitude to the European Union for its institutional and financial support, which has been essential to bringing this ambitious project to fruition.
Likewise, we extend special recognition to FI Group for its commitment, dedication, and guidance throughout the management, advisory, and technical and economic justification processes of the project, whose professionalism has been key to achieving the set objectives.
The H2VAIXELL project not only consolidates ARESA SHIPYARD’s experience in designing and building innovative vessels but also reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the energy transformation of the naval sector, steering its future towards cleaner, more efficient, and environmentally responsible solutions.
